3) I used to own an Audi, and I can tell you that to have one repaired costs about 3 times what other makes would cost for the same problem.. - groundhog
4) Hello
A couple of questions
You do not say how many keys you have and if this problem is with one or both of them?
If you can check in your owners Manual if you have one
Did this start happening after you changed the Fob Battery?
If yes.
1, You may have had the battery out to long ((My Vectra has Max of 30 Seconds) If this is the problem the spare should still work) so it has now got to be Re-matched to the Car, Sit in car, Doors shut, Switch On ignition (You now have 10 Seconds) and press either Lock or Unlock button on the Fob and release. If the Central Locking now cycles by locking and unlocking the doors you have fixed it.
2, You may have dropped the chip from inside the Fob (If this is the problem the spare should still work) You will need to get the Fob re-chipped.
If you have done nothing and this started unexpectedly then check the Central Locking Main fuse Mine is by itself and 30 Amp rated on the Fuse Box inside the car, Central Locking will still work on key but that should also switch off the alarm.
In either case the Immobiliser will not be affected as that is on a different system and is switched off when you push key into the ignition and is not part of the chip system.
Hope this helps

Question 5
Water is not draining from under the bonnet of my Audi A4?... I have an R reg Audi A4 estate and i've noticed that the rain water is not draining away from under the bonnet. It all collects up and then pours out as i'm going round corners. There is also water leaking into the passenger side footwell. Does anyone know where the drainage hole is on these models because i'm guessing thats its blocked up. Also, the heating is not working. I've had a new thermostat fitted but still nothing. The pipes under the bonnet are getting nice and hot but it's not coming through into the car. Could this have anything to do with the water problem?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Answers
1) If you are getting water on the floor is it coming in from around door or from under the dash if it from under the dash then you should check the heater core to see if it is leaking that would be why you are not getting any heat or it could be plugged up and needs to be flushed. - opj62
2) Dig around under the bonnet below the windscreen, that's where the drain holes should be.
Lack of heat and leaking are not related. - Ian
3) the water is collecting in the heater intake scuttle just below the w/screen leaves and such gather in there and block the drain holes, have a look for them and clean them out. - J R
4) the drain holes are under the battery tray - JACQUI
